Our church is active in many ministries, and our parishioners provide material, financial, and spiritual support for a variety of missions, including the following:
Food for the Poor
Each spring, our parishioners make a monetary donation to this wonderful organization, which provides direct relief assistance (food, housing, medicine) to poor and needy people throughout the world. And throughout the year, our parishioners bring to church their used printer ink cartridges to give to this organization, which in turn delivers them to a recycler for a donation. Their website: www.foodforthepoor.org
Gideon International
Our parish supports this life-changing organization with monetary donations. Gideon International distributes and places millions of Bibles throughout our country and the world, to people who would not otherwise have access to God's word. Their website: www.gideons.org
Habitat for Humanity
Each summer, a group of St. Augustine's parishioners help this organization build a house for a family in need here in Hendricks County. The work is not easy, and the weather is usually hot, but the reward is great. Their website: www.habitat.org
Heifer Project International
During the time of Lent, our parishioners support this amazing organization, which provides life-sustaining animals to people in need around the world. These animal donations give needy families a source of food, rather than just short-term relief. Families who receive animals agree to give their animal's offspring to others in their community, making them equal partners with Heifer in the fight to end world hunger. Their website: www.heifer.org
Our Local Community
During the Christmas holidays, we donate items to those in our community who are mentally disabled or live in nursing homes. Items we deliver include toiletries, clothing, and food.
Project Angel
This local organization collects and distributes clothing, food, toys, and more to local children in need. Each year, our youth group raises money and shops for a family who needs help for their children at Christmas.
Sheltering Wings Center for Women
This shelter provides emergency housing in a supportive Christ-centered environment for women and children suffering from physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. our parishioners provide items necessary for those living in this home, such as baby needs, paper goods, cleaning supplies, and groceries, which are delivered each month.
